7 Family Friendly Things to Do in Fort Worth Texas

If you’ve never been to Fort Worth, this is a location you will want to add to your list of places to go. Not only has it been undergoing a massive renovation as a city itself, it’s also expanded and moving up the ranks as a hot spot for vacations, value, and variety. Most importantly, it has tons of to do for families, so if you have kids in tow, this is a great place to go! Hotels, restaurants, attractions and more are continually being added with over 5.5 million visitors coming to the city every year! 7 Attractions in Fort Worth

Fort Worth Zoo

Come check out the Fort Worth Zoo with much more than animals in store. There are exhibits that can only be found here, like the Cheetos Cheetahs, Meerkat Mounds, and the World of Primates. Not only is it home to over 7,000 animals, but it also has the Museum of Living Art, an educational herding area for kids called Texas Wild, a petting zoo and a special option for families looking to stay overnight. This is a fantastic feature where you get more than a room to sleep in. They provide dinner and a scavenger hunt for the family to partake in. The attractions are abundant as well, so be sure to look into the Tasmanian Tower and do some rock climbing, take a ride on the Yellowstone Express Train,  enjoy a twirl on the  Country Carousel, and much more!

Burger’s Lake

Need to cool off, but want something more relaxing and open? This is the place for your family! This 30-acre park has a  one-acre spring-fed lake for swimming fun. It comes equipped with six diving boards, a 25-foot trapeze and a 20-foot slide. With plenty of sun and shade alike, you can enjoy the day soaking it up and splashing around, all with the comfort of knowing that there are extra eyes keeping watch over the swimmers because the lake is always under the vigil of certified lifeguards.

Stockyard’s Station

If you want a one-stop treats all location, the Stockyards Station is a must. Loaded with shops, restaurants, and events galore, this western-themed attraction will present a fun and welcoming environment for the whole family. Make sure to take the kids to the Candy Barrel for authentic and classic goodies. Check out the Cattle pen Maze and enjoy the 4,500 square foot challenge. Get taken back into time with Jersey Lilly’s Old Time Photo Parlor, where you can dress up and become a part of history with these old-fashioned shots to take home. Walking trails, Four Hours of Fun events, concerts, and more can be found all at the Station. Be sure to check the calendar and plan your trip for any of the special events they may be having coming up to really capitalize on your time there.

Main Event Entertainment

For some indoor fun and feasting, be sure to come through Main Event Entertainment. It houses something for everyone! Enjoy bowling, laser tag, mini golf, rock climbing, a billiards area, karaoke, bocce ball, and a huge arcade. Want something daring and unique? Check out the Gravity Ropes, where you get to traverse ropes and bridges over different areas of the building! The food options vary from the pizza parlor, a banquet buffet, a restaurant, and a bar for when the adults are looking for a drink. They also have events for all ages, and will also let you book a birthday or event there as well. It’s the jack of all games!

Six Flags Over Texas

This amusement park features over 50 rides in its 212 acre park. You can’t go wrong when it comes to finding fun rides for everyone here. Those going in the fall season may get lucky to partake in the Fright Fest; a great event full of frights and fun.  Especially keep an eye out for the next year as new expansions and rides arrive including the Looney Tunes at Bugs Bunny Boomtown, It will feature 10 children-friendly rides. Fans of the Justice League will find all kinds of themed rides after their comic book heroes here. Batman, Superman, and the entire League all have thrilling rides at the park with Battle for Metropolis coming soon to add to their repertoire. Live entertainment, shops, food, events, and tons of characters walking about keep this park busy with things to see and do!

Amazing Scavenger Hunt Adventure

Want a unique and wild experience? This is it. Imagine having your family on their own form of Amazing Race. This massive area of Fort Worth is like a village within the city, full of life and energy and a passionate atmosphere. This is where you can truly feel the heartbeat of the city.
